This is truly the most wonderful time of the year with cooler temperatures, our calendars filling up with holiday parties and festivities, and knowing we will have some well deserved time off from work. On Thanksgiving, we will celebrate with full stomachs. On Black Friday, some will rush out for the best deals (I personally hope to find the new Dyson hair dryer on mega sale!). On Cyber Monday ,we will nurture our back-to-work woes with online shopping. But on Giving Tuesday, a national day of charitable giving, we will give.
This time of year always seems to sneak up on us. It’s such a joyous whirlwind of a time, but we often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of completing end of year deadlines and getting those perfect gifts for friends and family. I often find myself over stretched during the holiday season and truly look forward to Giving Tuesday where communities come together with a common passion and give back to the organizations they care about. It is the perfect reminder to check in, stay true to your values, and support the organizations that you serve. We are living in a time where we can access people all over to world by the touch of our instagram handles. Imagine the impact we could make by coming together and being champions for #GivingTuesday. On November 27, 2018, the #GivingTuesday movement turns 7 years old. Join the Young Women’s Alliance for a Giving Tuesday profit-share celebration at Erin Condren. YWA will receive 20% of all proceeds earned from 6:00pm. to 8:00pm. We will have complimentary champagne to celebrate this growing charitable movement and plenty of snacks. Come ready to check some people of your holiday shopping lists while giving back to YWA, who fosters a community in Austin that empowers young women through programs and leadership roles.
