How long have you been a member?
I joined YWA in February 2015
Why did you join YWA?
I was eager to become more involved in the community and build new relationships.
What’s been your favorite topic/speaker and why?
I’ve enjoyed all of the general meeting speakers, but have learned the most from fellow YWA members who have shared their experiences with me.
What are your goals for YWA this year?
I’m serving as the New Member Chair this year, so my foremost goal is to improve the new member experience and help new members find their niche in YWA.
Has there been a volunteer/community service experience that’s made an impact on you?
Yes! I recently volunteered with YWA at the Community First Village– a community run by Mobile Loaves and Fishes that provides sustainable housing and community for Austin’s homeless population. We weeded one of their gardens and it was extremely rewarding to see what a few hours could accomplish.
What brought you to Austin?
I was looking for a new adventure.
Favorite thing about Austin?
The eclectic mix of people, the food, and the access to the outdoors
