The Young Women’s Alliance Future Women Leaders Scholarship is a key component for the organization to give back to our community. By improving access to higher education, we are a part of the systemic change needed to create a more equitable future for young women. We know at YWA that we must be intentional and strategic when it comes to finding future women leaders and breaking down barriers that stand in the way of them pursuing their education goals. The YWA scholarship program aims to provide young women with resources to become the future leaders of tomorrow.
Future Women Leaders Scholarship
The scholarship is open to all young women regardless of gender identity, racial/ethnic background, immigration status, income level, and ability. Each scholarship will be awarded for up to eight semesters, with the goal of supporting these young women through their entire higher education journey. By partnering with Del Valle ISD, this scholarship helps address inequities in the Austin metro area and invests in the future of women leaders of Austin.
Applications for the 2024 scholarship program will open in the February.
LENS Mentorship Program: A New Layer of Support for Scholarship Winners
The LENS Mentorship Program directly supports this vision by offering:
- Personalized 1:1 Mentorship: Every scholarship winner is paired with an established YWA member, creating an individualized support system.
- Comprehensive Support: From the transition to college life to long-term career goals, our mentors provide guidance, community, and essential resources.
- Continuous Engagement: Monthly check-ins and topical resources ensure that our mentees are always connected and informed.
By launching the YWA LENS Mentorship Program, we are not just awarding scholarships; we’re investing in the future of female leadership.
