This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes Young Women’s Alliance (“YWA”) practices regarding personally identifiable information and data (the “Personal Information”). This Privacy Policy applies to our website, application, email and text messages, and social media accounts (the “Site” or “Sites”). When you use the Sites, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Information You Give Us
You provide us information such as, without limitation, your name, business address, phone number, or email address, when you register for an account; when you search for a product; place an order through one of Vendors; or communicate with us by phone, e-mail, or messaging.
Automatic Information
We may also collect and analyze automatic information such as, without limitation, the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information such as browser type, version, and time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform; purchase history; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our Sites, including date and time; cookie number; or products you viewed or searched for. We may also use browser data such as cookies, Flash cookies (also known as Flash Local Shared Objects), or similar data on certain parts of our Sites for fraud prevention, diagnostic purposes, and other purposes. During some visits we may use software tools such as JavaScript to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We use your Personal Information as follows:
To improve our Sites and services, better understand the users of our Sites and services, and protect the Sites.
We use cookies (which can help YWA remember your username next time you log in) and pixel tags to provide, improve, protect and promote our Site. However, you can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use the Site.
The use of your Personal Information may be necessary to perform the services and provide you products that you have requested from us.
We may rely on your consent to use your data for certain direct marketing purposes. You can withdraw your consent anytime by contacting us or change your settings in your account as described below
In certain cases we may need to use your Personal Information to handle and resolve legal disputes, for regulatory investigations and compliance or to enforce the Terms or Privacy Policy.
We also use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Sites. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Sites, including the web pages you visit, add-ons, and other information that assists us in improving the Sites. We collect and use this analytics information with analytics information from other users so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual user.
Finally, we never use or share the Personal Information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described in this Privacy Policy without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Consent
You can manage your communication preferences in your account. Our marketing email has an opt-out URL and you can unsubscribe from such communication at any time. You cannot unsubscribe from servicing emails and administrative messages that are considered part of your account membership, unless you cancel your membership.
How We Share your Personal Information
We may share your Personal Information with service providers who perform services on our behalf and have agreed in writing to protect and not further disclose your Personal Information. If you purchase any products through the Sites, we may share your Personal Information with the payment service providers and the Vendors you have bought products from. These third parties will process your Personal Information as data controllers in accordance with their own privacy policies. If you contact our customer support, they may need to share information about your request with the relevant vendor in order to assist you. We may disclose Personal Information if required by law, for example to law enforcement or other authorities. This includes court orders, subpoenas and orders arising from legal processes, or administrative or criminal investigations. We may also disclose your Personal Information if the disclosure is necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts or to prevent other damage, or in response to a legal action or to enforce our rights and claims. In the event that we enter into a business transaction, such as a merger with or an acquisition by another company, or a sale of some or all of our assets, your Personal Information may be among the assets that are transferred or disclosed in connection with such a transaction. You will be notified via email of any change in ownership or uses of your Personal Information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your Personal Information. We may remove parts of data that can identify you or combine your information with other information in a way that it is no longer associated with you. We may share such aggregated information with others.
How We Store and Protect Your Personal Information
Your Personal Information will be stored on our servers and data centers located in the U.S. YWA has a security program intended to keep the Personal Information stored in our systems protected from unauthorized access and misuse. Our systems are configured with data encryption, or scrambling technologies and firewalls constructed to industry standards. We also use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology that protects the data you send over the Internet. Personal Information may only be accessed by persons within YWA, or our third parties authorized to carry out the uses indicated in this Privacy Policy.
Retention Periods
We will retain your Personal Information for as long as your account is active and for a period of time thereafter to allow you to re-activate your account without loss of information. We will also retain your Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our contracts.
Cookies and Tracking Tools
YWA uses cookies and other tracking tools. We use several common tracking tools such as, without limitation, cookies or web beacons, to collect usage and demographic information about you over time, to track new visitors to the Sites, when you use our Sites, to help improve our Site and for capacity planning purposes. We do not use this information to personally identify you. By using the Sites, you give us your free, unambiguous and informed consent to the use of any of the cookies and tracking tools mentioned in this Privacy Policy. You can control cookies and other tracking tools through your browser settings. Please note that your opt out choice is stored in opt out cookies only in that browser, so you should separately set your preferences for other browsers, computers, or devices you may use. We may use the information collected about you through Google Analytics for Google services such as Remarketing with Google Analytics and Google Display Network Impression Reporting. Our Site may contain “links” to other websites. We cannot be responsible for the content or privacy practices employed by other websites. We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services linked to or from our Sites, including the information or content contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Sites to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and do not have control over any third-parties that you authorize to access your Personal Information. Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time and without prior notice. We may notify you about such a material change by email or prominent notice on our website. By using our services and Sites after we post these changes, you indicate you accept them.
Your Rights With Respect To Personal Information
You are entitled at any time to obtain information about your Personal Information that we store, in accordance with applicable law. You may request that we rectify any of your Personal Information that is incomplete or incorrect, including, deleting your user account. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of our processing based on such consent before it was withdrawn. We may request proof of your identity before acting upon any request. We may not be able to allow you to access certain Personal Information in certain instances, such as, without limitation, if your Personal Information is connected with Personal Information of other users, or for legal reasons. In those instances, we will provide you with an explanation why you cannot obtain your Personal Information. We may also deny your request for deletion or rectification of your Personal Information due to statutory provisions, especially those affecting YWA’s accounting, processing of claims, and mandatory data retention, which may prohibit deletion or anonymization.
