Austin Under 40
This committee is responsible for the coordination of the organization’s participation in the annual Austin Under 40 (AU40) event co-hosted with the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL). AU40 is Austin’s premiere black-tie gala with over 800 attendees. The event honors the changemakers in our city and includes past winners such as Kendra Scott, Andy Roddick, and Pritesh Gandhi. AU40 is YWA’s main fundraiser of the year and the largest YWA committee.
Communications
The Communications Committee is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the organization’s brand and promoting awareness of both YWA and the Future Women Leaders Fund internally and externally. The communications committee oversees all things marketing including: social media channels, newsletter, blogs, brand awareness, PR, and event promotion.
Community Impact
One of YWA’S pillars is “to serve”. The Community Impact team is responsible for the execution of community service opportunities for our members as well as deepening relationships with non-profits in Austin that align with YWA’S mission. One of YWA’s future goals is to say that we serve women of every generation in Austin. The Community Impact team is responsible for making sure we complete that mission. The Community Impact team is also responsible for our scholarship program and working with local high schools to promote our scholarships and reward recipients.
Development
The Development Committee is responsible for fundraising on behalf of YWA through sponsorships, partnerships, events, and grant funding. This is a great opportunity for members interested in building meaningful relationships in the broader Austin community and honing their fundraising skills. This committee also leads YWA’s annual member-driven fundraising campaign, which supports funding for the Future Women Leaders Fund.
Diversity, Equity, and Belonging
The Diversity, Equity and Belonging Committee is responsible for shaping strategy and driving execution of the DEB strategic vision and goals across YWA and in our community. Committee members work directly with other committees such as, Programs, Membership, and Marketing to ensure that all committees are working together to achieve YWA’s DEB goals.
Events
The Events Committee is responsible for the planning, organizing, and completion of both members only, and public events. Events include:
- Golf Lessons and Tournament
- Holiday Party
- Spring Fundraiser
- Member Appreciation Party
Finance
The Finance Committee is responsible for all financial records, transactions and approvals for YWA and the Future Women Leaders Fund. With the oversight of the Finance Committee, YWA has continued to be a healthy organization that is able to invest in our members and community.
Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for the cultivation of new YWA members as well as retaining current members. Committee Chairs are responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging environment for all members. The Membership Committee also oversees YWA’s Book Club.
Operations
The Operations Committee is responsible for managing the administrative duties within the organization as well as the youngwomensalliance.org website, SEO strategy, YWA’S data and analytics tracking, and our technology platforms.
Programs
The Programs Committee is responsible for the planning and logistics of monthly General Meetings, YWA Connect, and various workshops. With their help, YWA members gain access to phenomenal speakers, mentors, and relevant workshops.
